Another FA Cup 5th Round tie here and it’s sure to be a competitive affair as Kenny Jacket’s Millwall side host Premier League Bolton Wanderers. Both sides are experiencing somewhat difficult seasons but Millwall certainly come into this game on the back of the more positive results and this will be a tricky away tie at the New Den for Bolton.
The Lion’s are definitely too close for comfort to the relegation zone currently but they did put up a great performance in their 4th round replay with an excellent 3-2 win at title contenders Southampton. This FA Cup run has likely been a welcome distraction for the Millwall players and could well have a positive knock on effect where their league form is concerned.
Bolton seemed to have turned a corner where their Premier League form was concerned but home defeat at the hands of fellow relegation strugglers Wigan this past weekend has left Owen Coyle’s men squarely in the drop zoon.
This draw may have been preferable to a Premiership side but I really don’t think a trip to the Den will be something that the Bolton players are looking forward to. If Millwall can play to a similar level to that they managed in the previous round, they should prove difficult to beat.
